Install Solution Recommendations

Slip Solution

Distilled water plus one of four approved lubricants per 32 oz: Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo 0.5 ml, Film-On 2.5 ml, APE Applepotion 5 ml, or Seventh Generation Free & Clear 2.5 ml. Any of these provides the ideal slip ratio for positioning and squeegee work.

Tack Solution

Use distilled water only. Apply moderate pressure to activate adhesion. ONE PPF films are designed to edge-seal with distilled water alone.

Post-Heating

After all edges are sealed, post-heat with a heat gun at a safe distance. Avoid overheating, ONE PPF films respond to moderate, even heat.

Liner & Storage Guidelines

  • All Gloss and Satin films feature a cap sheet liner
  • Store rolls tightly wound in a cool, dry environment
  • Remove the clear liner before plotting to prevent static buildup

Plotting & Cutting Tips

  • Remove cap sheet liner from gloss films before plotting
  • Always perform a test cut to fine-tune depth settings
  • Use fresh blades, dull blades cause drag and imprecise edges

Installation Tips

1

Unified Film Behavior

All four clear films (HydroGloss, Ultimate HydroGloss, HydroSatin, HydroMatte) and Color PPF share identical handling, same stretch, same slip curve, same adhesive control.

2

Controlled Stretch

Clean, even stretching with minimal color distortion. ONE PPF films hold shape under tension.

3

Edge Wrapping Made Easy

Edge-Seal Technology helps the film naturally self-wrap around edges with distilled water alone.

4

Cutting Precision

Light resistance and clean knife flow. The film responds predictably to blade pressure.

5

Vehicle Preparation

Remove mirrors, emblems, and handles for cleaner lines and better access to full panels.

6

Film Orientation

Align seams with factory body lines for an invisible, OEM-quality finish.
